Hillary Mayers, DNP, FNP-C

McCall McPherson, PA-C
Clinician
Hillary earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University in 2013. After starting her career in a CV/CICU unit, she quickly realized her true calling lay in advanced practice nursing. She went on to earn both her Master’s and Doctorate in Nursing from George Washington University—equipping her with a strong clinical foundation that spans cardiology, orthopedic surgery, and family medicine.
But it was her personal diagnosis with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism in 2021 that shifted everything.
Even with a diagnosis and treatment plan in hand, Hillary found herself navigating symptoms and frustration—ultimately being told, “You’re on medicine, you’re fine.” That experience awakened a deep understanding of how often patients are left without answers, support, or real healing. She made it her mission to change that reality for others.
Drawn early on to hormones and thyroid health, Hillary now specializes in integrative and functional medicine with a focus on helping patients break free from the limitations of standard thyroid treatment. Her approach is rooted in empathy, science, and a firm belief in individualized care. She meets her patients exactly where they are—with understanding, encouragement, and a fierce commitment to walking with them every step of the way.
Hillary lives in Lubbock, Texas, with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. A proud Red Raider, she’s often cheering on her team in every sport imaginable. More than anything, she’s passionate about helping patients at Modern Thyroid Clinic find real answers—and live the vibrant, healthy lives they deserve.
