The Modern Metabolic Program combines GLP-1 therapy, when appropriate, with nutrition, lifestyle, and clinical support to help patients navigate their metabolic journey with more clarity and confidence.
Inside the program, patients receive practical education, dosing guidance, supportive resources, and tools designed to make the process feel more manageable and personalized from the start.
For patients with weight loss goals, we often use a slow, gradual microdosing approach when clinically appropriate, with a focus on sustainable progress, symptom awareness, and long-term metabolic support.
Our goal is to offer more than just access to medication. We pair individualized support with education and ongoing guidance so patients feel informed, supported, and equipped along the way.
Depending on your plan and clinical needs, support may include onboarding, Course Guide materials, weekly Zoom support calls, refill education, and additional resources to help you understand each step of the program.
Whether you are just getting started or looking for a more structured metabolic care experience, the Modern Metabolic Program is designed to provide a thoughtful, supportive path forward.

Everything patients ask us most — about the medication, eligibility, cost, and how to get started.
Many of our patients have reported significant improvements in their relationship with food, weight management, and metabolic health markers. Individual results vary and depend on many factors.
I actually believe it's the best choice for thyroid patients. It begins to repair the damage done to your metabolism because of hypothyroidism. Because of this, when you come off of the medication, your metabolic function is better than when you went on the medication. This medication is not contraindicated in people with thyroid conditions, with the exception of a history/family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma.
To participate in our weight loss program, patients must be 18 years of age or older. This age requirement ensures that participants are at an appropriate stage of physical development to benefit from our program safely and effectively.
Because our patient population is a particular type — people and women with metabolic damage due to a thyroid condition — your experience and need for semaglutide/GLP-1 agonists is very different than others in the general population. We work to solve your thyroid problem together (after all, that's why you came to see us in the first place). Now, we simply need to unravel the metabolic damage from your previous imbalanced thyroid, repair that damage so that your metabolism works better long into the future.
ABSOLUTELY. In fact, this is so exciting to me as I feel that so often, these women/people aren't offered any help or solutions, and even 10-15 pounds can be discouraging and frustrating.
Honestly, there's no one-size-fits-all answer for this. It depends on so many factors. What I can say is that I would estimate the average duration for most of our patients is around 6 months.
Modern Thyroid Clinic may prescribe GLP-1 or GIP/GLP-1 medications when clinically appropriate. Medication options, formulation, and pharmacy fulfillment may vary based on clinician review, patient-specific needs, pharmacy availability, and current regulatory requirements.
When compounded medications are prescribed, they are not FDA-approved brand-name medications and are not generic versions of Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound. Compounded medications are prescribed only when determined appropriate by a licensed clinician and are filled by a licensed pharmacy pursuant to an individual patient-specific prescription.
No. As discussed in the webinar, this is a class of weight loss medication that creates weight loss in two main ways:
It helps to curb cravings by influencing your neurochemistry and it makes you feel fuller faster and longer.
It removes excess blood sugar circulating in your body.
GLP-1 medications may be appropriate for some patients, but they are not right for everyone. Our clinicians review medical history, contraindications, current medications, labs when appropriate, and patient goals before determining whether treatment is appropriate.
There are no contraindications for people with thyroid conditions like hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's. They are however contraindicated for thyroid with a history or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma. We also discourage their use with anyone with a history of thyroid cancer in general.
As with any medication, side effects are possible. The most commonly reported side effect is mild nausea, which typically resolves within the first few weeks. Our medical team monitors patients closely and can adjust dosing to minimize discomfort. Your provider will discuss the full risk profile during your evaluation.
For our program specifically, I definitely go through these more in-depth in the webinar, so please, please watch that before making a decision. But the most common side effects are dehydration (from not drinking enough water) and about 10% experiencing some nausea for 24 hours or so each week, especially at first. I have yet to have a single person stop the medication due to side effects. Overall, they have been very mild in nature over 95% of the time.
One of the powerful benefits of using compounded medications is that we can adjust the dosage specifically for you because we are not using pre-loaded syringes. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded medications for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are dispensed. Compounded medications may only be appropriate when a licensed clinician determines there is a patient-specific clinical need. Your prescribing provider will review potential risks and side effects specific to your prescribed medication during your evaluation.
Our medications are prepared by licensed 503A compounding pharmacies based on individual patient prescriptions from our medical providers. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not substitutes for commercially available products. Our medical team evaluates each patient to determine the most appropriate treatment option.
No. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not the same as FDA-approved brand-name medications. They may differ in formulation, concentration, ingredients, delivery method, and pharmacy preparation standards. A clinician will determine whether a compounded medication is appropriate for an individual patient.
No, not everyone is eligible for GLP-1 medications. Eligibility is determined based on a comprehensive assessment of each patient's medical history and specific health needs. Our medical team will evaluate each case individually to determine the best course of treatment.
We offer flexible and affordable pricing options to suit your needs. For Semaglutide prescriptions, you can choose a one-time payment (1 month supply) of $357, or a 3-month bundle price of $1,041. For Tirzepatide prescriptions, there is a one-time payment (1 month supply) of $425, or a 3-month bundle price of $1,175. For NAD+ prescriptions, there is a one-time payment (1 month supply) of $225, or a 3-month bundle price of $645. Whether you prefer to pay upfront or bundle and save, there's an option that's right for you.
The Modern Metabolic Program is designed to provide more than just medication. Your program includes your prescribed GLP medication as ordered, access to our Course Guide created by founder McCall McPherson, and educational tools to help you better understand your metabolic care plan.
Inside the Course Guide, you’ll find program resources such as lifestyle guidance, nutrition support, fitness resources, recipes, dosing guides, and educational videos.
You’ll also have access to weekly group-based Zoom calls, including onboarding, Q&A support, and group lab review opportunities, so you can connect live with our team and get ongoing guidance throughout your journey.
For questions between calls, you can message our metabolic coach through the patient portal during office hours. You’ll also have access to our community page, where you can ask questions, learn from shared topics, and receive support along the way.
Please note that one-on-one consultations with clinicians or health coaches are not included in the standard program and would be an additional cost if offered. Labs may be an additional cost depending on your plan and clinical needs. This program is not a subscription model — you pay per vial or order.
Program inclusions may vary based on clinical needs and provider recommendations.
The program does not include the cost of laboratory testing. We can order your recommended lab panel through our team, but pricing may vary based on your insurance coverage, clinical needs, and next steps in care. For patients paying out of pocket, our lab panel typically ranges from approximately $125 to $160 per order.
The program also does not include one-on-one consultation or appointment calls. Private 15-minute and 30-minute calls with our nutritionist or metabolic health coaches may be available for an additional cost, with pricing varying based on the appointment type and level of support needed.
No, our program is independent of insurance limitations which, again, allows it to change and improve so many more people's lives.
Yes, you can.
We currently provide GLP care in most states; however, services are not yet available in Alaska, Arkansas, Rhode Island, and North Dakota. We are actively working to expand into these states. If you reside in one of these areas, please join our waitlist to be notified as soon as care becomes available.
Join the Waitlist →Our network of pharmacies can ship prescriptions for all patients under our care.
Due to regulatory requirements and compliance standards, our Weight Loss Program is only available to participants who reside within the United States and have a valid, residential U.S. address for medication delivery. This policy is in place to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and adherence to clinic licensing and pharmacy regulations.
As a result, participants living outside the United States are not eligible to join our program. This includes situations where medications might be rerouted to a friend or family member's address within the U.S. Additionally, we cannot ship medications internationally due to the risk of temperature regulation and potential loss of medication efficacy during transit.
