Laurie Hutcherson, PA-C

McCall McPherson, PA-C
Clinician
Laurie graduated cum laude from Kansas State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. After relocating to Texas with her husband, she earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in 2005. She began her career at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she worked in reconstructive plastic surgery, supporting patients through life-changing procedures and recovery.
It was during these early years that Laurie began to see the power of care that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional medicine. Her time living abroad in Australia further deepened that insight. Immersed in a culture that embraced wellness, clean nutrition, and active living, Laurie experienced firsthand how lifestyle and environment could dramatically influence health outcomes.
In 2016, Laurie transitioned into gastroenterology, where she found purpose in solving complex cases—often for patients who had struggled for years without answers. Through advanced testing, nutritional enhancements, and diet coaching, she became a trusted practitioner in gut health and functional healing. She later expanded her clinical toolkit by earning a Certificate in Dry Needling in 2021, inspired by the success she witnessed in integrative physiotherapy.
Laurie believes strongly in patient self-advocacy and the need for individualized care—especially in areas where traditional medicine may fall short, such as thyroid disorders. Her personal connection to these issues runs deep, having seen close friends dismissed or mismanaged by their providers.
She is continually expanding her knowledge and is passionate about empowering patients to take control of their health in a fast-paced, often disconnected medical landscape. Laurie lives in Texas with her husband and children, and enjoys traveling, reading, and recreational CrossFit in her free time.
